Alternatively, you can contact sales@scaleson-professional.com with the keyword “Datenschutz” (data protection); we will forward your request to the data protection officer.

3. Accessing the website (server logs)

When you access the website, technical data is processed automatically (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser used, referrer URL). This data is technically necessary to display the website, to defend against attacks and to ensure stability and security. It is not merged with other data sources and is stored only as long as necessary for these purposes.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, trouble-free operation).

Hosting: This website is operated on a server managed by us at Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) in a data centre within the EU. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Hetzner Online GmbH. The database of this website runs on the same server; no further third-party cloud or storage services are used.

4. Cookies, local storage and fonts

This website does not use any cookies for analytics, tracking or advertising purposes and does not use web analytics services, social media plugins or map services.

  • Language selection: The website is available in German, English and French. On your first visit, the language is chosen based on your browser’s language settings. We store the language last displayed in a cookie named “lang” (lifetime 12 months) so that you see the website in that language on your next visit. The cookie contains only the language code (“de”, “en” or “fr”) and no personal data. It is strictly necessary for the function you have requested (Section 25 (2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG).
  • Light/dark mode: If you switch the display mode on the home page, your browser remembers this setting in local storage (localStorage, key “ss-theme”). No cookie is set and no data is transmitted to us. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you have requested (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).
  • Internal areas: There are password-protected areas for our staff only (content management and trade fair overview). A technically necessary session cookie is set only there, after login. Visitors to the public pages are not affected.
  • Fonts: All fonts are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or other font providers.

5. Contacting us via our forms

If you contact us via one of our forms, we process the data you enter in order to handle your enquiry and to contact you. Mandatory fields are marked as such; all other information is voluntary.

5.1 Contact and enquiry form

Via the form under “Contact” you can send enquiries to our sales team. Your enquiry is stored in our own database on the server referred to in Section 3 so that our sales team can handle it and add internal notes on the conversation. In addition, it is delivered to us by e-mail via the transmission service provider named below.

Data processed:

  • First name, last name
  • Company and position (optional)
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Your message (optional) as well as date and time of the enquiry
  • Language of the website in which you completed the form (in the e-mail only)

5.2 Trade fair contact form

At trade fairs you can register via our trade fair contact form (“Bleiben wir in Kontakt” – let’s stay in touch) so that we can get back to you after the fair. This data is not transmitted to third parties but stored exclusively in our own database on the server referred to in Section 3. Our sales staff can add internal notes on the conversation to your entry.

Data processed:

  • First name, last name
  • Company and position (optional)
  • E-mail address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Your message (optional) as well as date and time of the entry

Purpose

Handling your enquiry, preparing a quote, calling you back or contacting you after the trade fair, and internal prioritisation of the request.

Legal basis

Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps taken prior to entering into a contract at your request) and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the efficient handling of enquiries). Where you have consented to the processing when submitting the form, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR is an additional legal basis; you may withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future.

Transmission service provider for the contact and enquiry form

To deliver the data from the contact and enquiry form (5.1) by e-mail, we use the service Formspree, Inc., USA, in addition to storing it in our own database. The data you enter is transferred to servers in the USA. This constitutes a transfer to a third country. The trade fair contact form (5.2) is not affected.

Safeguards for the third-country transfer: Data is transferred to the USA on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Formspree, Inc. Formspree’s privacy policy is available at: https://formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy

Retention period

We store the data for as long as is necessary to handle your request and beyond that within the scope of statutory retention periods. The data is then deleted.

6. Contact by e-mail or phone

If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details (name, contact details, content of the enquiry) in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

7. Recipients of the data

Your data is passed on only to parties required to handle your enquiry: our sales and service teams, our hosting provider (Section 3) and, for the contact and enquiry form, the transmission service provider Formspree (Section 5). No data is passed on for advertising purposes.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

  • Access to your stored data (Art. 15)

  • Erasure (Art. 17)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
  • Data portability (Art. 20)
  • Objection to processing (Art. 21)
  • Withdrawal of consent given (Art. 7 (3))

To exercise your rights, an informal message to the contact details given in Section 1 or 2 is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg (LDA Brandenburg; Brandenburg State Commissioner for Data Protection and Access to Information), Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany, https://www.lda.brandenburg.de

9. Changes to this privacy policy

We will update this privacy policy whenever data processing changes (e.g. new website features). The current version applies.
